Source localization

Capable of measuring sound intensity level and direction in 3D source localization becomes easy. Traditionally, sound source localization can use active sound intensity measured by a regular intensity probe. Noise control can be applied more efficiently if we know the sound intensity associated with the natural sound source.

The figure below shows an intensity application example.

The active sound intensities at the window are lower than at the roof. However, looking at the incoming sound waves it’s more efficient to increase sound absorption at the window.
